About the Festival

Ten thousand kilometers west of Östersund, sixteen kilometers east of Trondheim, and sixty kilometers north of Stockholm lies Åre: an international village and one of Sweden's most beloved ski resorts. In this location, a new addition to Sweden's festival scene was introduced in 2017: Åre Sessions. A festival where music and skiing culture come together for two days, set against one of the country's most beautiful environments.

Åre Sessions premiered the last weekend of April 2017 and has since been a part of the big season-ending weekend in Åre. The festival makes stops at several stages and venues around Åre - from places in the ski slopes to the big arena in Holiday Club at the bottom of the village. With previous artists such as The Hives, Veronica Maggio, Turbonegro, Teddybears, Little Simz, Oskar Linnros, Studio Barnhus, the music program is built around the foremost acts of the Nordic music scene. Equally important as the music is the festival's activity program, where festival-goers are offered activities such as yoga, mountain hikes, downhill cycling, and ski school. One of the festival's newer additions is also Breakfast Talks - a breakfast scene that is shaped around inspiring conversations with exciting people.

And the best part: at Åre Sessions, your SkiPass serves as your festival ticket. With a 3-day, 4-day, or season pass, you get access to the entire festival. Those who only want to attend for one or two days can purchase a two-day pass at a minimum for entry.
