Beyond Wonderland at The Gorge is one of those editions where the brand and the location amplify each other almost naturally. Insomniac brings its Alice-inspired universe — the rabbit hole, the Queen, the Mad Hatter, strange creatures and surreal visual language — while The Gorge provides a natural amphitheatre that already feels designed to bend reality a little. Entering Wonderland in an urban venue is one thing. Entering it in George, Washington, overlooking the Columbia River Gorge, with open sky, dry Pacific Northwest air and the feeling of being far from everything, is something else.

This edition emerged as Beyond Wonderland’s Pacific Northwest chapter, and since its first arrival at The Gorge in 2021 it has stood apart from other versions of the brand. Beyond Wonderland Southern California is deeply tied to SoCal rave culture. Monterrey had its own Mexican and urban accent. The Gorge, however, plays a different card: landscape, camping and scale. Here, the fantasy does not need to trap you inside an artificial world, because the venue itself already feels slightly unreal. The stage does not compete with the horizon. It borrows power from it.

Musically, Beyond Wonderland at The Gorge moves through several areas of contemporary electronic music: bass music, dubstep, melodic bass, house, bass house, techno, trance, drum and bass, mainstage sounds and artists capable of turning a huge open-air setting into a collective release. In the same weekend, melodic names, heavier acts, danceable house sets and explosive festival moments can all coexist. That variety fits the Wonderland idea very well. This is not a straight path. Camping is central to the experience. Beyond at The Gorge is not lived as “arrive at the show, leave when it ends.” It begins earlier, with the road trip, the campground entrance, the tent, the cooler, the temporary neighbors, the first walk toward the venue and the excitement of knowing that for several days your world will be music, friends, dust, sunrises, strange outfits and set times that gradually start to feel flexible.
