HAKKE360

A pair of Nike Air Max probably explains HAKKE360 better than a page of marketing copy ever could. In gabber culture, shoes are not simply footwear; they belong to a visual language built around movement, speed and the unmistakable mechanics of hakken. When INURFASE and Bootshaus launched HAKKE360 in Cologne, the goal was not to invent another hard-dance subgenre. It was to give Germany a dedicated meeting point for early hardcore, gabber and early rave culture, taking music often associated with Dutch pilgrimage trips and placing it inside one of the country’s best-known electronic clubs. The result feels less like retro cosplay and more like a family reunion where everyone happens to kick at 180 BPM.

The first edition took place at Bootshaus on 10 February 2023, and the lineup made the mission almost impossible to misunderstand. Paul Elstak, Promo, Darkraver, Buzz Fuzz, Gizmo, Lady Dana, Marc Acardipane, Panic and Tommyknocker represented several foundational chapters of European hardcore history. HAKKE360 placed those sounds at the centre rather than using them as a nostalgic side room. The organisers described the night through gabber, early hardcore and early rave, while the very name pointed toward hakken as both dance style and social glue. It was built for people who knew the history, but equally for younger ravers discovering that history long after its first explosion.

The concept expanded remarkably quickly. In July 2023 HAKKE360 returned to Bootshaus for a Rotterdam Terror Corps 30 Years edition, bringing Bass-D, Dione, Headbanger, Nosferatu, Newstyler and Rotterdam Terror Corps into the same night. A month later the brand travelled to Junkyard in Dortmund for a lengthy outdoor-and-indoor session featuring Mad Dog, Neophyte, Ruffneck, Catscan, Endymion and The Viper. That excursion mattered because it showed that HAKKE360 was already becoming more than one recurring Bootshaus party. It could travel, reshape itself and still remain recognisable. Cologne nevertheless remained the gravitational centre around which most of its subsequent history developed.

Bootshaus is particularly suited to the concept because its rooms allow different eras and shades of hardcore to coexist without turning the night into a random hard-dance buffet. The Mainfloor can carry major heritage acts and broad early-hardcore sets, while BLCKBX and Dreherei provide space for millennium hardcore, early terror, hardstyle classics or community-driven programming. In November 2023, Marc Acardipane, Neophyte, Nosferatu, Drokz, Day-Mar and The Speedfreak were spread across that architecture. As HAKKE360 matured, the three-room structure became part of its storytelling: one building could function as several chapters of the same musical history rather than three unrelated parties competing for attention.

Looking backward has never meant staying frozen in the late 1990s. Part of HAKKE360’s appeal is the meeting between artists who helped build hardcore culture and a generation that encountered gabber much later through social media, revived fashion, contemporary hard dance and the renewed fascination with faster music. The HARD KLASSIKS edition in March 2025 made that approach especially visible. Early hardcore occupied the Mainfloor, Hardstyle Classics took over BLCKBX and Geck-O handled another room, turning nostalgia into something active rather than decorative. In October, a three-decade celebration of Paul Elstak used his career as the centrepiece while PTP Hardcore and an early-terror room widened the historical lens.

By 2026, HAKKE360 had enough confidence to start playing with its own formula. February brought a sold-out Bootshaus night featuring Catscan, Dano, Drokz, Ruffneck, Ophidian and The Outside Agency, while the Dreherei was given to “The Next Gabber Gen.” Then came HAKKE360 Outdoor in July, an amusingly logical contradiction for music so often associated with darkness, warehouses and strobes. Early hardcore and early rave moved onto the Bootshaus terrace in full daylight before the action continued inside with the official HAKKE360 After alongside VERSTEKK XXL. Gabber had gone outside for the summer, and judging by the sold-out event, sunlight did remarkably little to reduce the kick drums.

Community language runs through nearly everything the brand does. HAKKE360 repeatedly talks about culture, family and lifestyle, but those words make sense in a scene where clothing, dance style, shared references and physical participation have historically mattered almost as much as individual DJs. Community floors and DJ contests reinforce the idea that the event should not simply hire famous names and place an audience in front of them. The November 2026 edition takes that further: Fantastic Four hosts the Mainfloor, Oldschool Gangsters controls BLCKBX, and Dreherei becomes the HAKKE360 Community Floor, providing another bridge between established culture and people who want to become part of its next chapter.

That is why HAKKE360 should be understood separately from INURFASE MASSIVE even though both live inside the same broader ecosystem. INURFASE is the parent hardcore event brand; HAKKE360 is one of its most clearly defined concepts, built specifically around gabber heritage, early sounds and the ritual of hakken itself. In only a few years it has grown from a new Cologne club night into a recognisable event series with its own channels, travelling editions, outdoor experiments and dedicated following. Its strength is not an obsession with chasing every new hard-dance trend. Quite the opposite: HAKKE360 keeps returning to the idea that before the endless subgenre vocabulary, there was already a hard kick, a crowded floor, a pair of Air Max and somebody ready to hakk until morning.
