Ostróda Reggae Festival

Ostróda Reggae Festival is the July reggae weekend in Ostróda, on the Masurian lakes. The Polish encyclopedia calls it the largest reggae festival in Poland and leaves it running since 2001, at the municipal stadium and the amphitheatre. Today the programme is split across Red Stage, Green Stage and Yellow Stage, and the life of the grounds, according to Bartek Muracki's blog of 1 August 2024, sits on the promenade of Lake Drwęckie, on the other shore, next to the stadium. The organiser named by the encyclopedia and by the 2009 page on ostrodaonline.pl is Positive Music Promotion. The director is Piotr Kolaj, also written Piter. The Warmia and Masuria lexicon writes Kołaj. The two spellings stay together. Artur Many Munje, then head of the town promotion office, stands at the 2001 start beside Kolaj.

The roots the encyclopedia tells begin in 1983, when workers at the culture house set up Ost-Rock, a local heat toward a national young-song contest. It went on every year through 1989. In the nineties there were only two editions, 1995 and 1996, and Agonya won both. In 2001 the meeting returns to the courtyard of the Teutonic castle, from 31 August to 1 September, under the name Ost-Rock-Reggae. The lexicon calls that weekend the first reactivated edition and adds Kobranocka among the guests. The encyclopedia puts Kobranocka on the second day. The two lists stay together. In 2004 the name becomes Ostróda Reggae Festival and the courtyard gives way to the Białe Koszary barracks. If 2001 is year one, 2024 would be the 24th. The youth newsroom's paper and the festival's own thank-you call 2024 the 23rd. Radio UWM FM calls the one of 24 to 27 July 2025 the 24th. The count does not close. The figures stay together.

The night with titles is Tomasz Lipiński's in 2024. Agnieszka Tkaczyk, in eOstróda of 29 July 2024, writes that the crowd sang with him Wojna, To co czujesz and Runął już ostatni mur. The stretch that follows in the same sentence carries a czy: Rzeka miłości, morze radości czy ocean szczęścia. It is not clear whether that is one title or two. The sentence Jeszcze będzie przepięknie, jeszcze będzie normalnie is her summary, not a title on the list. The text says the band is in its 45th year. The encyclopedia, on the 2024 bill, writes Tomek Lipiński, 45-lecie. Muracki, who was there, does not list those titles. He notes that some friends complained of dry arrangements and that he heard the concert as spoken poetry, beside the hymns of Tilt. The two reports stay together. The same blog closes one title in the Mesajah block, which the encyclopedia marks as 20 years: Andrzej Krzywy sang W moich ogrodzie. The usual spelling of that song is W moim ogrodzie. The two stay together.

The rest of Muracki's walk closes no further titles. Dubska built a tribute to R.A.P. with Jarex of Bakshish, Gutek, Guma from Moscow and Damian Syjonfam. Rootz Underground arrived with Steve Newland and Omar Francis, the house band Positive Thursdays in Dub, a feat from Brinsley Ford of Aswad and a Midnite cover with no title in the text. Natural Dread Killaz played a few numbers from the original group, with Natty on stage, and the blog gives no names. K-Jah brought Omar Perry. Manudigital brought a deejay Muracki writes as D'Patch and the encyclopedia as Dapatch MC. The friend's crude verb stays out. The fact stays: he put dubstep in.

2025, according to the encyclopedia, ran from 24 to 27 July at the stadium and the amphitheatre, and during that 24th the town council named Kolaj an honorary citizen of Ostróda. Telewizja Mazury, on 5 August 2025, Kacper Wasześcik, writes that the 24th had already passed into history, with more than 40 artists, three stages and thousands of people, and names no song. eOstróda of 9 September 2025 is still in the future tense: it invites readers to a weekend of 24 to 27 July which, by that date, had already happened. The two pieces stay together. The official Spotify playlist, uploaded on 4 May 2025, is an advance of artists, not the night. Inna de Yard, Ijahman Levi, Mortimer, The Selecter and Dub Inc are on the radio bill and on that list. No report marks a title that sounded that week.

The homepage of ostrodareggae.com, read on 28 September 2026, still shows the grid for 23 to 26 July 2026. The encyclopedia, from a page read in June 2026, calls that weekend the announced 25th. There is no report of those concerts. The path of the grounds, in the blog, runs from the castle courtyard to the white barracks, where Muracki says an Aldi now stands on the site of the big stage, then to the red barracks, the amphitheatre and the stadium shore. Gazeta Wyborcza of Olsztyn, on 1 August 2024, Robert Robaszewski, puts 7,000 people a day at the 23rd, a figure he attributes to the organisers, and quotes Kolaj: the police chronicles were left empty. The youth newsroom dates that 23rd from 25 to 28 July. Tkaczyk, with a 29 July byline, still writes that two nights remain. The two dates stay together. In 2003, according to the encyclopedia, disturbances near the courtyard cut the concert around midnight and Duberman, Paprika Korps and Bakshish did not play. On 25 November there was an After Ostrock Reggae Festiwal in front of the Paragraf club, free entry for anyone holding the August ticket.
