Couleur Café
À propos du Festival
The Couleur Café Festival is a festival of world and urban music. It is organized by the non-profit association Zig Zag. It takes place annually in Brussels on the Tour et Taxis site, the last weekend of June or, if necessary, between June and July.
The festival is no longer advertised solely as a world music festival, but also as a festival of all kinds of music that has been offering, in its last 3 editions (2006, 2007, and 2008), styles such as R&B, Hip-Hop, World, Afro, Reggae, Ragga, Dub, Dancehall, Latino, Salsa, Son, Raï, and Rock; as well as a space dedicated to electronic music. The programming showcases its eclecticism thanks to the mix of established artists and others to be discovered.
Structured like a big village with its squares and alleys, the festival offers, apart from music, numerous animations, fireworks, children's workshops, dance and music courses, art exhibitions ranging from traditional to more contemporary art, as well as multicultural meeting points.
The festival also offers a large craft market with the presence of the artisans working behind the stalls. You can also find a variety of culinary specialties from around the world.
Every year, development aid NGOs participate in the festival. Regrouped in a reserved place for them, they offer animations, debates, and information.
