Mint Festival

Mint Festival is two days of house, techno and drum and bass on a farm the house bought, Newsam Green Farm, in Newsam Green, Leeds, postcode LS15 9AD. The Skiddle page puts it about six miles from the centre, about twenty minutes by car or bus. The rooms are built among barns, an orchard and a bunker. The UK Festival Guides page for the date the front page now heads says camping is not allowed. The file’s site stays. That front page now heads a May that has not been lived yet, and the year on that sheet is not printed here. Skiddle dates the weekend already past as Saturday 2 to Sunday 3 May 2026. A note from October 2025, on the same site, stretches the run to Monday the 4th. Both stay side by side.

The first one was a single Saturday, 29 September 2012, at Lotherton Hall, Aberford, LS25 3EB, about thirteen miles from Leeds. The team behind Mint Club and Mint Warehouse announced it. The founder Leeds Living names on 21 March 2021 is Shane Graham. The co-owner, in that same note, is Baz Arjomand. Skiddle publishes on 5 October 2012. Jayne Robinson signs the header and Jack Law signs the foot. They count five tents, more than fifty DJs and twelve and a half hours. The guest-list queue grew long. Inside, the bar tokens came out fast. Seth Troxler, in the System and Flux tent, stopped because they brought him a cake and the crowd sang for his birthday. Adam Beyer filled a half-empty tent with techno. Jamie Jones followed in the other one, between tech house and acid. On the way out, the queue for the bus to Leeds lasted more than an hour. The writers left it and paid 45 pounds for a taxi for about ten miles.

In 2014 it was still at Lotherton Hall, on Saturday 20 September, from 11:00 to 00:30, at 45 pounds plus fees, with a daily capacity of 11,000 and the return bus folded into the ticket, according to eFestivals. The 2016 one was at The Tetley, in the centre, and the 2018 review says that one was full to bursting. The house has also named Wetherby racecourse, Stockeld Park and the Lincolnshire showground. In 2018 the site was the old RAF base at Church Fenton, which is also Leeds East Airport. Hannah Brierley walks it for Skiddle, in a piece dated 24 September. Derrick Carter opened with disco. Moodymann went on with dancers in mirror-ball helmets. Peggy Gou drew a large part of the site. The Area 51 hangar, advertised for about 5,000 people, was Joseph Capriati’s. At the end, Gorgon City closed beside a tower of fire. The shuttle was bought on the website.

In March 2021 Leeds Living reports that they bought the 136 acres of Newsam Green Farm and that the spend was about five million pounds. Graham says they had been looking for a home for three years. Arjomand says the brick orchard would be an arena and that the outbuildings would go into the food village and the dearer-ticket village. Leeds City Council gave a licence up to 15,000. The 2020 one was postponed and the tickets moved to 25 September 2021, a single day, the one they call the tenth. In 2023 Skiddle announces two days, 16 and 17 September, six stages, and a new techno one called The Valley. In 2024 the weekend moves to the early May bank holiday. The Leeds Live guide, written before the gates, puts Saturday the 4th from 10:00 to 23:00 and Sunday the 5th from 10:00 to 22:00. On that sheet the bus cost 6 pounds one way and 10 return, and parking was 10 pounds a car.

Electronic Groove, on 12 February 2025, before the gates, says six arenas and more than 7,500 people for 3 and 4 May 2025. That is the house figure in that preview, not a count at the gate. Leeds Living, announcing the 2026 bill, says 2025 sold out. The minimum age on the Skiddle page is 18. For 2026, Zapbang, in December 2025, names three rooms: The Bunker, The Orchard and The Barn. Skiddle’s note from October 2025 speaks of six stages. There is no piece that walks that weekend from the gate to the close. The names on the bill stay in the announcement. The gap between three rooms and six is printed as it stands.

People sleep in Leeds. The way the guides repeat is the bus from the centre or the car to the farm car park. The shape left standing is two days at the start of May, on a farm they own, with house, techno and drum and bass between the orchard and the barns. The weekend the sale sheets date, and that has already passed, is 2 to 3 May 2026, with the note that stretches it to Monday the 4th.
