2023Rolling Saone 2023
Numbers, home base and house quirks
Rolling Saône is lived under the Halle Sauzay, avenue Carnot, 70100 Gray, on the bank of the Saône. The Association Rolling Saône puts it together. The one of 14 to 16 May 2026 is already lived: it was the 18th. The hall covers about 1,000 square metres and up to 8,000 people fit; once in rhythm, about 6,500 fit each night. Two stages face each other, the downstream one and the upstream one, and the music goes on one and then on the other. The gates open at 17:00 and the grounds close at 02:00. Between the two stages there is a raised platform, with adapted washrooms behind, and they ask for the mobility card. The Sauzay hall, in Gray and on the bank of the Saône, opens the gates at 17:00 and closes the grounds at 02:00.
On Thursday the 14th, Ascension day, the sky threatened and it was cool. Under the hall, that stops mattering as soon as you get to the front. Mapo, from Gy, opened, between rap and urban pop, from 18:15 to 19:00 on the downstream stage. Aldebert followed with the show Helldebert, accessible and comic metal, from 19:00 to 20:15 on the upstream one. The bill of that night continues with Nast, Stephan Eicher, Lesswinter, Eiffel and House of Brass. Friday: Enelos, Marine, Malo', Djadja & Dinaz, Vanupié, Orange Blossom and Ced.Rec. Already in the small hours of Saturday, Orange Blossom stands as a bath of rhythms from several countries and the close of that second night is Ced.Rec. Saturday: Bolidde, Ycare, Solve, Matt Pokora, Oriska and DJ Bens.
On 5 May 2017, in the same Halle Sauzay, Trust sounds L'archange, Au nom de la race, Marche ou crève, Instinct de mort, Comme un damné, Chaude est la foule, Le temps efface tout, F.Haine, On lèche, on lâche, on lynche, Préfabriqués and Antisocial. On 19 May 2023, Les Infidèles opened the second day. They came from the Jura, next door, with two brass, and mixed new songs with the ones already known from the nineties. Héritage, En disgrâce and Les larmes des maux played. In 2025 came Vitaa, Kavinsky, Alonzo and Tagada Jones; 2024, Cali, Keen'V, Koba LaD and Olivia Ruiz; 2022, Christophe Maé, Louane, Ofenbach and Hatik.
The list starts in 2007, with Les Wampas and Nadamas. From the second edition the festival plants itself in the centre. In 2012 the two stages face each other under the hall. In 2013 Tryo opens a day early and from then on there are three days. In 2017 a big screen is installed. In 2018 Stephan Eicher had already been under the hall: he covered Lartiste's drop at the last moment. The association counts 160 volunteers; months before, more arrive, sometimes from the same family. Gray is around 5,500 inhabitants, between Dijon, Besançon, Vesoul, Dole and Langres.
The free car park beside the hall has 1,200 spaces. The Longue Rive camping, 500 metres away, on the river bank, is for tents and asks for the wristband between 14:00 and 20:00. By road, the A31 exits at Dijon number 4 and follows the D70 for 41 kilometres; the A36 exits at Besançon number 3 and follows the D67 for 38; the A39 exits at Dole number 6 and follows the D475 for 40. The bus station, on avenue Carnot, is 100 metres from the hall. Paris–Dijon on the TGV is around one hour and forty minutes. Animals do not come into the grounds, except guide dogs. The folding chair, glass and the metal bottle stay out; the exception is the water bottle without a cap. Leaving is final. Christophe Laurençot presented the bill of the 18th: Pokora and Aldebert were already said in December. On the left, past the entrance, the ANPAA70 stand leaves caps and, at the end, a breath test before driving.
