Luminosity Beach Festival

Luminosity Beach Festival is a trance festival that began in 2007 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Bo van Eck posted the idea on a Dutch music forum. There he met Otto, in a Utrecht pub. The first bill had five DJs. Some venues, van Eck told We Rave You, dropped the talk when they heard trance. The first beach visitor brought him vodka; Partyflock kept the photo. Luminosity Events produces the cycle. The site luminositybeachfestival.com is kept. Trance measured the ear from that first room.

In 2013 the Beach Festival was meant for Blijburg aan Zee, Amsterdam. Permits and shifting ground pushed it off. Luminosity Events moved it to Beachclub Fuel, Zeeweg 7, Bloemendaal aan Zee. Both stages fitted Fuel. There was a free shuttle from Zandvoort station. From 4 to 6 July 2014 the festival ran three days: Friday 15:00 to 00:00, Saturday and Sunday 12:00 to 00:00. Saturday pre-sale sold out. In 2015 We Rave You put more than fifty nationalities. In 2016, 24 to 26 June, Fuel sold out months ahead. Paul van Dyk, Markus Schulz, John O’Callaghan, Solarstone and Kai Tracid played. Super8 & Tab ran an Anjunabeats set. Jam el Mar played classics.

Bloemendaal aan Zee and Zandvoort measure the North Holland coast. The festival later moved to Beachclub Bernie’s, Boulevard Barnaart 65, Zandvoort. Usual hours are 12:00 to 23:00. The crowd takes the train to Zandvoort aan Zee and walks to the club. Eventsafe lockers sit on site. Appic builds timetables. Trance takes the Mainstage Beach, Bernies and classic rooms. Ferry Corsten, Aly & Fila, Giuseppe Ottaviani and Bryan Kearney have closed nights. In Trance We Trust and Infinity have hosted blocks. The North Sea gives the wind. The sand gives the ground.

From 26 to 29 June 2025 the festival already ran at Bernie’s. Gareth Emery opened Thursday with a hard set. Friday Vini Vici, Maddix and Sander van Doorn filled the bill. Saturday Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, Markus Schulz and John O’Callaghan took the stage. Sunday Aly & Fila and Ferry Corsten closed. Luminosity Events posted the day-by-day in March. From 25 to 28 June 2026 the festival already ran again at Bernie’s. Aly & Fila, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Paul van Dyk, John O’Callaghan, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Billy Gillies, Neelix and Will Atkinson played. Andrew Rayel ran Extasia. Ben Nicky ran Emotional Havoc. Sander van Doorn played with Marco V.

On 26 June 2026 KNMI issued a code-red heat warning. Luminosity, with the town, opened at 18:00. The permit cut at 23:00. DJGuide posted the compressed times: Mauro Picotto, Paul van Dyk b2b John 00 Fleming, Maddix, Joyhauser, Ben Nicky. Some sets moved to Saturday and Sunday. Defqon.1 cancelled that weekend; Luminosity stayed on the beach. TranceHistory, on 29 June, wrote that the heat forced measures and that the international crowd filled Zandvoort. On 4 August Luminosity Events posted the four-day aftermovie, shot by Faabfilms.

Trance measured the ear. Utrecht pins the start. Bloemendaal pins Fuel. Zandvoort pins Bernie’s. North Holland pins the coast. The Netherlands pins the map. Zeeweg 7 and Boulevard Barnaart 65 pin the doors. Bo van Eck and Luminosity Events pin the producer. 2007 pins the forum. July 2014 pins the three days. 28 June 2026 pins the close already held. The sand, the code red and van Dyk’s set pin the character: a beach festival, without a forest camp and with the Zandvoort train a walk away. The 2007 first room was small. Van Eck said trance became his career after that visitor. Fuel sits on the Zeeweg, a walk from the dunes. Bernie’s faces the boulevard. The 2026 aftermovie is on the Luminosity Events YouTube. Full sets also went to SoundCloud. Gabriel & Dresden and Solarstone played the 2026 bill. Joyhauser and Marie Vaunt brought harder rooms. The first club run was at Club Poema, Utrecht, in November 2007. In 2014 Fuel added ice cream, cocktails and towels for people who went in the sea. info@luminosity-events.nl sold last-door tickets. Haarlem sits inland. NS trains run to Zandvoort aan Zee. We Rave You called it a three-day gathering with more than 45 DJs in 2016. An afterparty closed that weekend. LED lights and CO2 jets sat on the 2014 checklist. Facebook.com/LuminosityEvents carried the updates. Judge Jules and Union Jack played that Fuel year. Eddie Halliwell stood on the 2016 bill. Vini Vici came as newcomers that year. Darren Porter and UCast also played Fuel. The Balearic line sat in the 2014 Fuel note. Ruben de Ronde and Maria Healy stood on the 2026 beach.
