Anjunadeep

Anjunadeep is not a festival in the classic sense, but it is one of those music brands that eventually becomes much more than a label. It was founded in London in 2005 within the Anjuna universe of Above & Beyond and James Grant, as a home for the deeper, more melodic and progressive side of electronic music. Over time, that space stopped being only a record label and became a global community: a sound, an aesthetic, a way of travelling, listening, dancing and connecting.

Its identity is far from immediate-drop EDM. Anjunadeep lives at another pace: long melodies, warm basslines, emotional atmospheres, sunrise moments, extended sets, open landscapes and a sensitivity that blends club culture with introspection. It is electronic music made for dancing, yes, but also for watching the sea, driving at night, walking alone or remembering someone. That emotional dimension is part of its power. Its followers do not only follow artists; they follow a feeling.

The label’s catalogue helped shape a generation of producers and fans around sounds such as melodic house, deep house, progressive house, organic house, ambient, electronica and melodic techno. Names such as Ben Böhmer, Lane 8, Yotto, Jody Wisternoff, James Grant, Marsh, Luttrell, Eli & Fur, Tinlicker, Dusky, Cubicolor, Nox Vahn, Qrion, CRi, Dosem and many others have orbited or formed part of its universe. They do not all sound the same, but they share an idea: electronic music with depth, elegance and emotional narrative.

The most festival-like side of Anjunadeep appears through its events. Anjunadeep Open Air brings the label’s sound to parks, gardens, waterfront spaces and open-air locations in different cities. It is not a fixed festival, but a touring event series that works as a community ritual: fans arriving with a very clear expectation, long sets, a transition from day into night and an atmosphere that feels more carefully built than explosive. It is the urban and travelling version of the Anjunadeep world.

Held in Dhërmi, Albania, Explorations blends a music festival with a beach holiday on the Albanian Riviera. Its charm lies in the fact that it does not feel designed for anonymous crowds, but for a community that wants to live several days inside one emotional state: sea, mountains, sunsets, intimate parties, wellness, special b2bs, sunrise sessions and a program curated almost like a long sonic journey.

That is where Anjunadeep’s meaning becomes clearer. It does not sell only headliners; it sells continuity. It does not chase only the viral drop moment; it looks for memory, landscape and belonging.
