México Metal Fest

México Metal Fest is the metal festival that Alejandro Rodríguez, owner and director of Cacique Entertainment, started in 2016. In the interview of 10 September 2025 he says the early editions were in partnership with another company, which he does not name, and that the Mexico City weekend they did alone. Later papers call the gathering Cacique Metal Fest. He says he has been with the company about twenty years and that with the festival they were heading toward ten. The site on the file is kept. That homepage still invites people to 12 October at Expo Guadalupe, in Monterrey, and calls it the eighth, without printing the year. The notices of 7 to 9 October 2024 say that date was postponed.

The weekend he treats as held is 16 and 17 November 2024, at the Velódromo Olímpico. The producer's sheet announces it as the eighth, all ages, with a cap of 12,000. Saturday is listed at 12:00 and Sunday at 14:00. The prices on that sheet rise by phases: general admission runs from 2,400 to 4,000 pesos and the preferred ticket from 4,400 to 6,000, not counting the service charge that the other homepage flags separately. That is the sale sheet, not what each person paid. In the interview he says the edition came out complete, that the announced bands were there, and that across the two days some 15,000 people passed through. He had hoped for about 20,000. The 12,000 on the sheet and the 15,000 in the interview do not measure the same gate. He says that in Monterrey you rent a place and the producer keeps the food and drink, and that in Mexico City the place costs more and the food and drink stay with the venue. That is his comparison, not a receipt. He says outside tours used to be about 35 percent of the attendance and that in the capital those people from outside did not come. They lost a lot of money. That is his balance.

Days before 12 October 2024 the festival published that, for circumstances that were not favourable and were not the artists' doing, that date at Expo Guadalupe was postponed. The bulletin says that in seven earlier editions they had offered the entertainment that marks them and that conditions did not allow them to carry it out. The same day they announced a shorter party at the Expo. A person who asked for a refund did not lose, according to one paper, the right to enter, and that paper calls the party free and open. Another wire leaves it free for someone who already held a ticket. The two sentences do not open the same gate. It is not the bill of the November weekend.

On 10 September 2025 they announce that 18 October, at Parque Ferrocarrilero in Monterrey, moves to 18 April 2026. Rodríguez says it is the first time they move a date for money, distinct from the pandemic postponements. On talent alone he speaks of about 700,000 dollars and, with production and publicity, of an event of about a million. He says they needed some 5,000 people to recover the investment and that the risk was to open the day with a thousand. They were, he says, at 30 percent of the break-even point. They showed the bands the ticket-office screens. He reckons that about 90 percent of the announced bill could stay, some eleven or twelve bands from outside, and that five or six were still missing. In the interview he treats it as confirmed, because blocking the date again for the agencies would be the second time. A later notice confirms that the April date is cancelled. The refund process, the notice says, would be explained at the end of August, and it asks people to keep the ticket. It leaves open the hope of a farewell day, with no date. These sheets do not close that day. April is not told as a weekend that was lived.

The cash squeeze, in his account, also comes from another show: Tokio Hotel, in early December 2024, at the Velódromo. He says production, the band, the venue and the hotels were already paid when it was cancelled. They have a lawsuit against Dreamers and against the Velódromo, and refunds through the consumer office. The claim window he gives runs until early December 2025. He does not give the percentage returned. Of the site he says they lost contact with the designer, that the domains are still in his name, and that they have not had the head to rebuild the page.

Sleep is in the city. None of these sheets prints a camp. The official site is kept, with the October invitation still on top. There is in these papers no weekend with closed doors after 17 November 2024.
