Love International

Love International is a house and techno festival that first ran from 29 June to 6 July 2016 at The Garden Resort, Ul. Petrića Glava 34, 22240 Tisno, Croatia. Dave Harvey and Tom Paine of Team Love — Love Saves the Day, Futureboogie, The Love Inn and Wow at Glastonbury — directed it. Nick Colgan, founder of The Garden Festival, took part too. The Garden had closed in 2015 after ten editions. DJ Mag called Love International the spiritual successor. Skiddle dated the handover. The site is a private bay with pine, beach and a natural amphitheatre on the Adriatic, a walk from Tisno.

The first bill brought Dixon, Ben UFO, Bicep, Craig Richards, Gerd Janson, Horse Meat Disco, Hunee, Jackmaster, Job Jobse, Joy Orbison, Midland, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Prosumer, Roman Flügel, Axel Boman, Eats Everything, Tama Sumo, Fort Romeau, Felix Dickinson, Red Axes, Lord of the Isles and Khruangbin. The week cost £120; boat parties and Barbarella’s were extra. Mixmag covered the debut: Team Love grew the scale and kept Garden’s ethos. Split sits about sixty minutes away; Zadar about forty; Zagreb about three hours. Barbarella’s Discotheque, an open-air club in Pirovac, runs midnight to six. The general pass does not include it. A bus leaves from The Dustbowl. Boat parties sail on The Argonaut and The Arbiana, boats more than a hundred years old, Thursday to Tuesday. The Fest is eighteen-plus. In 2025, a tenth-anniversary note in Mixmag also marked twenty years of The Garden; the site ran 9–15 July. Floating Points, SHERELLE, Soichi Terada, Ben UFO, Shanti Celeste, Octo Octa and Eris Drew, Radioactive Man, Antal, DJ Nature, Quest, Reptant, Sweely, Aurora Halal and CCL played. More than 120 extra names and Irish crews sat on the sheet: Black Bones, Ema, Saoirse, Marion Hawkes, Or:la, Jordan Nocturne, Mark Gill and Jio.

In July 2026 the Fest ran 8–14 July. Five stages: Garden Stage, Beach Stage, Olive Grove, Sunrise Sessions and Terrazza. Garden music ran midday to 2am; Sunrise Sessions ran 6am to midday from Thursday 9. Barbarella’s covered the nights of 8–14. General tickets and Barbarella’s Unlimited passes sold out; Tixel handled resale. One pound per ticket went to Onboard:earth and the Croatian ballroom scene. In 2025 Team Love balanced 55.67 tonnes of CO₂e from crew flights. Shuttle Tours runs Zadar or Split to Tisno. The Ancona–Zadar ferry takes about four hours.

Love International began on the same ground as The Garden, SunceBeat, Electric Elephant and Soundwave, not in a London park. Harvey and Paine told DJ Mag they wanted Garden’s legacy and their own view. The site loveinternationalfestival.com is kept. House and techno — with disco via Horse Meat Disco and live Khruangbin in 2016 — measured the bill. Tisno, Pirovac and the bay pin the map. The Fest holds in that July week, not in Bristol.

The Garden Resort holds a restaurant, traders and its own beach. A 2026 ticket gave 24-hour Garden access for seven days. Boat parties on 9–13 July left at staggered times. FlixBus and rail reach Zagreb; Jadrolinija covers the Adriatic. The Box Office opened midday to midnight. Easol sent tickets. The site sits outside Tisno on the Dalmatian coast. The Fest is read at Petrića Glava 34, at Barbarella’s and on the boats, not in a Huddersfield pavilion. Onboard:earth, once Energy Revolution and ecolibrium, has funded reforestation and community energy since 2015. Accessibility PA tickets cannot be resold. The Man at Seat 61 guides rail from the UK. Omio and RailEurope plan the continent. Summer Festival Guide listed the debut on 13 January 2016. Roam Free Ninja cited Resident Advisor. Terrazza was revamped toward 2025. Garden Stage and Beach Stage face the water. Olive Grove sits among pines. Sunrise Sessions start at six. Four/Four listed the Irish 2025 wave. INSITE counted more than 150 artists on the second 2025 wave. DJ Mag posted the first names on 5 November 2015. Harvey and Paine had booked Garden years. The Dustbowl is the bus park toward Pirovac, with departures around 23:45 and returns before dawn. Khroma Collective bylined the INSITE note. Garden Stage holds the day; Barbarella’s holds the night. The Fest has measured ten Julys in Tisno since 2016. Mixmag’s first-year review called the Garden resort a top worldwide festival site after the descent into Split.
