Mallorca Live Festival

Mallorca Live Festival is a June weekend in Calvià, in the south-west of Mallorca. The grounds are the old water park, between Magaluf and Palmanova, with the beach nearby and the mountain behind. The commercial name now carries the surname Occident. For three days it mixes pop, rock, hip hop and a dance-floor close. There are six stages at once. One day holds about twenty-five thousand people. The organisation counted about seventy thousand across the 2026 weekend. You do not have to leave the island to see a bill that puts a British group, a Spanish pop voice and a local name on the same grounds.

The large stage is called Estrella Damm. Es Jardí holds the newer proposals. The Mallorca stage is backed by the islands' tourism agency. Plaza Occident is the electronic one. La Isla fills the slot that used to be called Radio 3. Terreno Hotel adds another programme. You walk from one to the next across the grass of the old water park. The coastal hotels are still around it: many people sleep there and come into the grounds in the afternoon. There are paid areas apart, Golden and Terraza, which in 2026 sold out along with the other expensive tickets. The day is not a stadium with a single tower. It is a park with several doors open at once.

Friday tends to carry the rock and the indie. Saturday joins the pop and the hip hop. Sunday turns the big field into a dance floor. In 2026 that showed, without a minute-by-minute timetable. On Friday 12 June, among many, were The Prodigy, The Libertines, Viva Suecia, Dani Fernández and Standstill. On Saturday 13, Cypress Hill, Aitana, Kaiser Chiefs, The Wombats, rusowsky and León Benavente. On Sunday 14, David Guetta closed on the Estrella Damm, after Meduza and Miss Monique. Two days hung out the sold-out sign. Of the crowd, forty percent lived in the Balearics, twenty-five came from the mainland and thirty-five arrived from other countries. Artists from the islands shared stages with the names from outside.

The first time was not in Calvià. On 29 and 30 April 2016 the weekend took the Son Fusteret fairgrounds in Palma. About ten thousand people. Three stages, one per style. The promoter was Álvaro Martínez. On the bill were Morcheeba, Bebe, Delorean, Fuel Fandango and local bands such as Satellites. The idea, as the organisation put it then, was a large festival on the island so you did not have to take a boat or a plane. Martínez had talked with tour operators, clubs and the Consell. The first year looked for a local crowd. The later ones, the mainland and northern Europe.

In 2017 the weekend moved to the old water park and stayed. On 12 and 13 May that year the early names already included Lori Meyers, Mala Rodríguez and C. Tangana. The grounds could take the growth: more bars, more toilets, more stalls. There was a pause in 2020 and 2021. When it returned, the format was still the Calvià park in June. 2026 was the ninth. Six stages, where at the start there were three. The Occident surname is the current sponsor. The place and the month are still those of the move.

The festival, as it stands, is that June in the old water park. Palma was the first weekend. Calvià is the home. You come in during the afternoon, cross the grass and choose between the large stage, the garden, the electronic plaza and the island. On Sunday the main field becomes a dance floor. One ticket puts someone who lives on the island next to someone who flew in for the weekend. Martínez built the first one. The organisation now counts the result in tens of thousands and in six platforms. The town around it is still Magaluf and Palmanova, with the mountain behind. The 2016 bill also included Canteca de Macao, Capsula and island groups such as The Wheels and Dinamo. The advertising of that start went to Menorca, Ibiza, Valencia and Barcelona, four ports with a regular boat. Between the Estrella Damm and Plaza Occident the sound crosses: on the grass in the middle you hear the end of a concert and the start of a set. Before the gates opened, the organisation spoke of more than fifteen hundred jobs tied to the weekend and of more than thirty percent of the bill being local talent. The write-ups, afterwards, confirm a full park, six platforms and a Sunday dance floor.
