Ohana Festival is still at Doheny State Beach, in Dana Point, California, halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam manager Mark Smith and Rich Best of Live Nation co-founded it. C3 Presents produces it. Far Out writes that Vedder is a co-owner. The name comes from the Hawaiian idea of family. The site, read on 28 September 2026, acknowledges the land of the Acjachemen Nation, also called the Juaneño Band of Mission Indians, and speaks of three stages, more than 35 performances and a cove of talks with conservationists and surfers. Pollstar, on 10 October 2025, counts two stages facing the sand. Two and three stay together. Vedder chose that beach because he learned to surf there, according to the Orange County Register of 21 September 2022.
The debut was Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August 2016. The release of 2 September counts more than 22,000 people over two days and more than 175,000 dollars for the San Onofre Parks Foundation. On Saturday, Vedder's close was Rockin' In The Free World, by Neil Young, with Kelly Slater, Jack Irons, Lily Meola, Band of Horses, John Doe of X and people from Mudhoney. Vedder also sat in with Elvis Costello, with X, with Cat Power and with Irons. On Sunday Lana Del Rey closed, with no song in that text. The English Wikipedia puts, by 2023, about 14,500 people a day. The two figures measure different things and stay together. The Register says 2020 paused for the pandemic and 2021 returned, cut for a while by rain and lightning. Far Out, on 26 September 2026, calls Sunday the 27th the tenth anniversary.
On Friday 26 September 2025, Abby Jones, in Stereogum, and Althea Legaspi, in Rolling Stone, walk Vedder with the Earthlings: Andrew Watt, Josh Klinghoffer and Glen Hansard on guitars, Chad Smith on drums and Chris Chaney on bass. It was the group's first time in two years. They open Gut Feeling, by Devo, and follow with Corduroy, by Pearl Jam. Jones lists I'll Be Waiting, Long Way, The Dark, Setting Forth, Far Behind, No Ceiling, Brother The Cloud, I'm One by The Who, Watch Outside by The Mono Men, Lukin, Chad-O, Rose Of Jericho and Fallout Today. Save It For Later, by The Beat, carries a piece of Better Man and the sax of James King, of Fitz and the Tantrums. The Song Remains The Same, by Led Zeppelin, comes in as an introduction and moves into Rearviewmirror. Isn't It A Pity, by George Harrison, ends with the close of Hey Jude. Porch follows. The close is Rockin' In The Free World, with Kelly Jones of Stereophonics. Jones adds that, earlier, Vedder sang Just Breathe with Lukas Nelson and The Seeker with Tedeschi Trucks Band. Before The Song Remains The Same, Vedder names Shirley Manson of Garbage, Hinds, Jessica Dobson of Deep Sea Diver, Akira Galaxy, Kim Deal and Karen O, the last of them in the crowd.
Pollstar, on that same 2025 weekend, puts Hozier on night two at a B-stage in the middle of the crowd, and Cage The Elephant on night three, with a SpaceX rocket crossing the sky. Vedder says there that the 2025 Pollstar award belongs to the people gathered over nine years. The page read on 28 September 2026 still offers tickets for 25 to 27 September and marks the event as scheduled. Far Out had already reviewed Friday the 25th.
That Friday, Reuben Cross recounts Pearl Jam's return with Abe Laboriel Jr., Paul McCartney's touring drummer for 25 years. Matt Cameron had closed in May 2025 a stretch of 27 years. The bill said Eddie Vedder and Friends. Vedder opens alone with Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town and Far Behind. Song of Good Hope, by Glen Hansard, has Simon Good on guitar. Cross calls Hansard recently deceased: that is the sentence of that note. I'm One returns, now with Billy Idol. Bee Girl is acoustic, with Jeff Ament. Then the rest of the band comes in: Corduroy, Hail, Hail, Scared of Fear, Wishlist, Dark Matter, I Got Shit, Do the Evolution, Won't Tell, Pretty Green by The Jam, Green Disease, Lukin and Porch. The return is Better Man, Even Flow, Sonic Reducer by Dead Boys and Baba O'Riley by The Who. Cross writes on Saturday the 26th that Sunday the 27th was still ahead, with Fontaines D.C., Pixies and Rilo Kiley by day and Pearl Jam closing. That night is not walked here. TicketNews, in May, had also announced Maná on Friday and Tyler Childers on Saturday: that is a bill.
What stays with a title, and already lived, is Rockin' In The Free World in 2016 and again in 2025, Gut Feeling and Rearviewmirror on that Earthlings Friday, and Corduroy, Even Flow and Baba O'Riley on 25 September 2026, with Laboriel Jr. on drums for the first time.
