M'ERA LUNA

M'ERA LUNA is the August weekend of gothic and dark music on the old airfield at Drispenstedt, postcode 31137, in Hildesheim, about thirty kilometres south of Hannover. FKP Scorpio organises it. There are two stages: the main one in the open air and the hangar, which the reviews also call the club. Around them run a medieval market, a fashion show, readings, workshops and stalls. People sleep in a tent when the pass covers the campsite.

The weekend the reviews close is 8 and 9 August 2026. On Friday the 7th, according to Gothic Empire, there were already workshops, medieval dance, the Crypt Talk and readings in the disco hangar. The NDR FAQ, dated Sunday the 9th at 11:41, calls that weekend the twenty-sixth edition and announces 39 names, with Within Temptation on Saturday and Saltatio Mortis on Sunday. Festivalstalker, already in the past tense, speaks of a sold-out bill, of 25,000 people and of 40 performances, and says the arrival ran smoothly. That figure is the review's, not a turnstile. Monkeypress places the first concert around 11:00 and 11:20. The review's thermometer reads 32 degrees, with little shade on the field and water points that held. The hangar and an umbrella by the club served as shelter. The same review says Veljanov did not play because of illness and that The Beauty of Gemina went on at the last moment. That is not the full list.

The wristband is swapped for the ticket. A day pass opens the concert grounds and not the campsite. Camping needs the festival pass, and the NDR marks it sold out on that Sunday morning. Each person has five square metres. Quiet hours run from two to eight. Open fire and fireworks are forbidden. Showers and toilets on the campsite and on the grounds are free. There is a regular camp and a Gothic Garden, with your own tent or one already pitched. Campervans need their own ticket, and the vehicle has to match what the house defines as a home with a bed. Sleeping in the car is not allowed. Parking is assigned, unguarded, and needs a ticket if you sleep on the regular camp. Glass and bags larger than A4 do not go in. Children under six do not go in. From six to fourteen the house advises against the trip. Anyone who needs help says Panama, and the staff walk with them, without an interrogation. The house draws the five square metres like this: ten cover a comfortable two-person tent, an awning and two chairs. Groups are asked to arrive together, because security does not walk friends across to one another, and it points them to group claims. Rescue lanes stay open. Empty foldable bottles up to one litre, one packed lunch and an open reusable cup up to half a litre may come in. Chairs, animals and professional recording gear stay out. A minor from the age of six who is not with a parent needs a written permission and a copy of that parent's identity card. Minors who drink or smoke are sent home. An encyclopedia calls the ground a former British Army airfield.

The car follows the arrows and the traffic crew. The road code applies on the whole grounds. Without a parking ticket, the FAQ warns of an extra charge. You can leave the car park and come back. Every new entry to the concert goes through the check. Around the field, biotopes are closed: stepping onto them can end in expulsion. A 2025 practical note, from RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland, says the train arrives at the city's main station and a paid bus runs from there to the airfield. That note belongs to that summer. The 2026 pass, on a guide that already marks the weekend as finished, starts at 125 euros.

The clocks of the beginning do not match. One guide puts the premiere in 2000. Festivalstalker says the airfield becomes a meeting place from 2002. The 2025 NDR spoke of twenty-five years and expected 25,000 people. Another 2025 piece calls that summer the twenty-fourth edition. The 2026 NDR says the twenty-sixth. The setlist.fm year list jumps from 2019 to 2022. These sheets do not close which summers are missing. At the 2026 Crypt Talk, Stephan Thanscheidt, head of FKP Scorpio, spoke. The house page, dated 9 August 2026, already points to a later August. Those lines do not count it as lived.

People sleep in the tent on the pass, or in a hotel in the city if the ticket is for one day. There is no paid shower on the grounds. The short way by train is the station and the bus in that note. These sheets close no weekend after 9 August 2026.
